BOOK LIST FOR MR. SUTHERLAND

Okay, ssssooooo, here goes. These are all books that I have not read, I'm hoping this will be helpful though.

  1. The Executioner's Song
  2. Siddartha
  3. Sybil
  4. Seraph on the Suwanee
  5. Autobiography of Malcolm X (Okay, I'll admit to reading this one but it was just so good)
  6. Indian Killer
  7. A thousand Splendid Suns
  8. Fight Club
  9. A Rage in Harlem
  10. Lord of the Flies

  1. Siddartha! Was thinking of bringing this one in...but it may just be too obviously biased towards the stuff I'm thinkin' about these days. Still, it's a blast to see you pop it up here.

As for X...That's a book I need to re-read. I got my dad to read it years ago and his response was, "Everyone in America needs to read this book." And the only civil rights leader I MIGHT hero-worship more than Malcolm X is Fred Hampton. (Who died around age 21.) Heard of him?

  2. Isn't 'A Thousand Splendid Suns' by the same author of The Kite Runner. I heard it was extremely good.

  3. X is the greatest, he's an idol of mine for sure. Hmmm, Fred Hampton, the name difinitely rings bells. He was a Black Panther, right?

And yes Kim, it is by Khaled Hosseini, and I've heard that it is a great book.
